Pontypridd & Rhondda Roundtable, in partnership with RTBI are proud to be leading efforts to support DT38 Foundation in their World Record attempt for the longest ever football match in 2027!

At present dates and location are still to be confirmed, but we will be helping to support over 700 (5 or 7 a side teams, even walking football) teams playing 38 minute ‘segments’ of the worlds longest ever football match. There are sure to be ex professionals, ‘celebrities’ and others involved as well as the opportunity to be a Guinness World Record holder!

DT38 Foundation was set up by Tracy Tombides after her son, professional footballer Dylan died from Testicular Cancer. It aims to raise awareness and education for men’s health and for the checking of ‘balls’ once a month to help with early detection, that could have saved Dylan’s life.

On Sunday 16th August some of us joined Abercynon 2nd XI and their other sponsors for their annual sponsor day.

A thrilling 40 over match vs Sudbrook 3rd XI saw Sudbrook chase down Abercynon’s 120 and win in a thrilling finale.

A big shout out to Round Table prospect Andrew Rowley for his personal best 37 at bat.

Being able to support and sponsor local clubs and organsiations is at the heart of what we do and we look forward to meeting up with the club again for some fun in the nets

Pontypridd & Rhondda Roundtable is proud to announce a donation of £500 to the Save the Pop Factory campaign, helping to support efforts to preserve one of Porth’s most iconic landmarks and protect its future for generations to come.

The former Pop Factory has long been an important part of the town’s heritage, holding a special place in the memories of local people and serving as a symbol of RCTs rich industrial and cultural history. The campaign aims to secure the building’s future and ensure it continues to benefit the local community.

The £500 donation forms part of the Roundtable’s ongoing commitment to reinvesting funds raised through its events and charitable activities back into local causes that make a meaningful difference across Pontypridd and the Rhondda.
Sam Fathers, Area Chairman for South Wales (Area 4) and member of Pontypridd & Rhondda Roundtable, said:

We had a great time at our most recent social where we also welcomed members of the Cardiff Roundtable and Newport Roundtable as we took on the Lazer Quest at Tenpin Nantgarw.

Over 2 hours of intense games and fun we were all (except Sam) on a winning team at least once, and it was great to connect withy our neighbouring tables too.

It was also the first event hosted by our new Social lead Sean – and its safe to say that he did an amazing job getting everyone together.

We thank the team at Tenpin Nantgarw for a memorable night and look forward to our next social in June.
