Beam Me Up

We had a great time at our most recent social where we also welcomed members of the Cardiff Roundtable and Newport Roundtable as we took on the Lazer Quest at Tenpin Nantgarw.

Over 2 hours of intense games and fun we were all (except Sam) on a winning team at least once, and it was great to connect withy our neighbouring tables too.

It was also the first event hosted by our new Social lead Sean – and its safe to say that he did an amazing job getting everyone together.

We thank the team at Tenpin Nantgarw for a memorable night and look forward to our next social in June.

P&RRT – Simply The Best

Pontypridd & Rhondda Roundtable wins table of the year at National Roundtable Awards.

P&RRT have last night been announced as winners of ‘Table of the Year’ at the Roundtable GB&I awards, hosted in Sheffield. The awards, which were hosted in Cardiff in 2025, recognise outstanding achievements of individual members and of tables as a whole, and this years main award – Table of the Year, has been awarded to Pontypridd & Rhondda Roundtable.

The voting committee recognised that last year, despite a very small team, the table were able to raise record numbers for local charities and good causes, host the largest fireworks display in South Wales and their longest ever Santa Run – visiting more villages and children than ever before, all at a time where numbers of active members were at comparatively low numbers.

The size of membership in the last year has now doubled, which further illustrates the good work being done and that the tables other objective, to be a social opportunity for young men aged 18-46, is also being met.

Table Chairman Stephen Lowbridge on being announced the winner said ‘This is really unbelievable, its a fantastic achievement for a table our size and speaks volumes for the hard work and commitment, not just from our members but from every volunteer who helped to make events like the Ponty Big Bang and the Santa Sleigh a success.’

Further acknowledging the importance of Roundtable, vice chairman and treasurer and all round bonafide legend Sam Fathers said ‘When I moved to the area 2 1/2 years ago I knew no one. Roundtable gave me the opportunity not only to make amazing friends, but also to get involved in the wider community and raise funds for local charities and good causes.’

The table was also able to announce this week that the popular ‘Ponty Big Bang’ fireworks display will be back again this year – this time coinciding with Halloween for a spooktacular display.

The table is always looking for new members and support, and welcomes members from any part of RCT, as well as Merthyr, Caerphilly and Bridgend (districts). Whilst the Roundtable is open to men aged 18-45, there is also a ‘Women’s Circle’ for ladies of the same age and a 41club for those over 41.
